One major reason for dissatisfaction after a hip replacement is lengthening the operative leg more than the patient desires. Orthopedic surgeons have a few different options for measuring the leg length and offset (i.e. lateral translation) during hip replacement surgery; however, each option has its limitations and/or potential error.

Clarksville Physicians Play a Key Role in FDA Approval of New Dupuytren’s Contracture Treatment
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved the use of Xiaflex (collagenase clostridium histolyticum) on February 2, 2010 as the first drug to treat a progressive hand disease known as Dupuytren’s contracture. Working with Alpha Clinical Research, Dr. William H. DeVries and hand therapist Chris Binkley, OTR/L comprised the research team in Clarksville, one of only nine sites in the United States that participated in the Phase 3 portion of the study.
