Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
In the 1990s TOA
physicians opened their first state of the art
MRI focusing only on Orthopaedic injuries and
conditions. TOA chose MRI scanners best suited
to the meet special demands of orthopaedic
imaging. The MRI technologists at TOA are
specialty trained in orthopaedic MRI and the
images are interpreted by nationally renowned
radiologists specializing in musculo-skeletal
MRI. We are truly focused on Orthopaedics!
The TOA MRI facility at 301 21st Avenue
North in Nashville has 2 whole body MRIs and an
extremity MRI to further enhance image quality
and patient comfort when focusing on smaller
joints such as elbows, wrists, hands, ankles,
feet and toes. We invite our patients to just
lie back in the recliner and relax!
At our Clarksville and Murfreesboro facilities, TOA installed a whole body MRI. We offer our patients in Montgomery and Rutherford Counties the same high level of care and quality.
The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Va.,
awards accreditation to facilities for the
achievement of high practice standards after a
peer-review evaluation of the practice.
Evaluations are conducted by board certified
physicians and medical physicists who are
experts in the field. They assess the
qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy
of the facility equipment. The surveyors report
their findings to the ACR’s Committee on
Accreditation, which subsequently provides the
practice with a comprehensive report.
All TOA MRI facilities have been
awarded a three year term of accreditation in
MRI as a result of a recent survey by the
American College of Radiology.
