Richard A. Rogers, MD
Dr. Rogers graduated in 1978 from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in Memphis. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville and at Vanderbilt University Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Rogers joined TOA in 1996 along with his partners from Orthopedic Specialists of Murfreesboro. He specialized in general orthopedic surgery. Presently at this time he serves on the medical staff of Middle Tennessee Medical Center where he has formerly served as Chief of Surgery. Dr. Roger subspecialty is Comprehensive orthopaedics inclusive of work related injuries, with areas of special interest in arthroscropy of the knee, and arthroscopy of the shoulder.
Before attending medical school, Dr. Rogers earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Rogers served actively in the leadership of TOA as a member of the Board from 2003-2008, most recently as the Treasurer. Dr. Rogers and his wife Vikki have four children Jennifer, Rebekah, Amanda and Benjamin. In his free time, Dr. Rogers enjoys activities with his family. He is also actively involved in church activities. He has established and helps oversee a program to assist orphans and widows who suffer from the AIDS crisis in Uganda, East Africa.
