Robert B. Snyder, MD
Dr. Snyder is a 1972 graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan. He served two years of surgical residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and completed his orthopaedic training at Vanderbilt University. He was certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and practices with The Lipscomb Clinic-Harding Care Center of Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance. With every patient, he works to exemplify the objective of superior service and quality orthopaedic care.
Dr. Snyder's medical interests include fitness and general musculoskeletal care with a special interest in joint replacement. During his many years in practice, he has developed a wide knowledge of the latest techniques in spine care, reverse total shoulder replacements, and minimally invasive surgery for knee and hip replacement through the Zimmer Institute.
During Desert Storm, Dr. Snyder worked as an orthopaedic consultant at Ft. Campbell. He served as associate team physician from 1980 to1990 for the athletic teams at Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University including Vanderbilts NIT basketball championship at Madison Square Garden. He frequently presents lectures and teaches with Orthopaedics Overseas in Peru.
He is a past President of the medical staff of Saint Thomas Hospital, of the Nashville Orthopaedic Society, and of the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Society.
Away from the office, Dr. Snyder enjoys travelling, gardening and reading. He and his wife, Paula, have two children.
